The Lie That Keeps You Stuck
Somewhere along the way, many of us were sold a quiet little lie.
That if life feels overwhelming, exhausting, or unaligned… the answer is to start over. New plan. New routine. Brand new version of life.
But here’s the truth that hit me like a lightning bolt after three years of circling the same mountain:
You don’t need a new life.
You need to become a stronger, clearer, more aligned version of yourself inside the life you already have.
That realization didn’t come gently. It came through fear, burnout, autoimmune flares, and a whole lot of “what am I even doing?” moments.
And if you’re a mom navigating chronic illness, chaos, and big dreams that feel just out of reach… this might be the perspective shift you’ve been needing.
My Full-Circle Moment (That Took Way Longer Than I’d Like to Admit)
I feel like I’ve come full circle. And wow… it only took three years.
I’d love to say it was a graceful, intentional journey. It wasn’t. It was messy. Distracting. Fear-filled.
Here’s what actually happened:
First, my ideas felt too outside the box. Everywhere I looked, I was being told to niche down, simplify, follow proven paths. But what I wanted to create didn’t fit neatly into anyone else’s formula.
Then came the distractions. Trends. Strategies. “This is working right now” advice. I chased them like a magpie chasing shiny things, convinced the next one would be the answer.
But underneath all of that?
Fear.
Fear of failing.
Of succeeding.
Fear of being seen.
Of being judged.
Fear of getting it wrong.
Fear wasn’t just sitting in the background. It was driving the car.
So I paused.
And that pause turned into something I didn’t plan for at all.
When Your Body Forces You to Pay Attention
During that pause, my autoimmune disease flared.
Not subtly. Not gently. It came in like a full system shutdown.
And when you’re living with an autoimmune condition, everything changes.
Your energy becomes unpredictable.
Mind feels foggy when you need clarity the most.
Your body demands rest when your to-do list is screaming for action.
Add motherhood to that, and the weight doubles.
I remember thinking, “How am I supposed to build anything when I can barely get through the day?”
School drop-offs felt like marathons.
Afternoons ended on the couch.
Guilt followed me everywhere.
At first, I saw my diagnosis as the end of the road.
But it wasn’t the end.
It was a recalibration.
The Unexpected Gift Hidden in the Struggle
What felt like everything falling apart was actually everything coming into focus.
Because when your capacity is limited, you stop wasting time on what doesn’t matter.
You get brutally honest about:
-
- What actually supports you
-
- What drains you
-
- What’s sustainable
-
- What’s performative
And I realized something that changed everything.
I wasn’t meant to serve the hustle-harder crowd.
I was meant to serve women like me.
Moms who are:
-
- Managing chronic illness or burnout
-
- Carrying invisible loads
-
- Tired of pretending they’re fine
-
- Still holding onto big dreams
Women who don’t need another 5 AM routine.
They need a way to build a life that works with their reality.
The Moment I Called Myself Out
There’s a specific kind of clarity that doesn’t feel inspiring at first. It feels uncomfortable.
Mine sounded like this:
“You’re not stuck. You’re scared.”
And that one hit deep.
Because I had been telling myself stories:
-
- “I’ll start when I feel better.”
-
- “I’ll go all in when things calm down.”
-
- “I’ll show up when I’m more confident.”
But life doesn’t magically calm down.
Confidence doesn’t arrive before action.
And fear doesn’t disappear just because you wait long enough.
Then came the real kicker:
People will talk whether you play small or go big.
So… what exactly was I protecting myself from?
Playing small wasn’t keeping me safe. It was keeping me stuck.
You’re Probably Closer Than You Think
Here’s the part that surprised me the most.
I wasn’t starting from zero.
I had already built pieces of my dream life.
They just weren’t connected.
I had:
-
- Skills
-
- Tools
-
- Experiences
-
- Insights
-
- Systems (even if they were incomplete)
But I wasn’t seeing the full picture.
It was like having all the ingredients on the counter and convincing myself I had nothing to cook.
That’s when everything clicked.
I didn’t need more information.
I needed integration.
Why Becoming Changes Everything
This is where everything shifted.
Instead of asking, “What do I need to do differently?”
I started asking, “Who do I need to become to handle the life I want?”
Because doing more doesn’t fix misalignment.
Becoming someone who:
-
- Honours her energy
-
- Makes decisions with clarity
-
- Follows through even when it’s uncomfortable
-
- Builds systems instead of relying on motivation
That changes everything.
And this is the core truth most people skip:
Your current life doesn’t need to disappear.
It needs to be supported by a stronger version of you.
Building a Life That Works With You (Not Against You)
This is exactly how The Becoming Method was created.
Not from theory.
Not from a perfect routine.
But from necessity.
I needed something that:
-
- Worked on low-energy days
-
- Adapted to flare-ups
-
- Supported motherhood
-
- Still allowed me to move forward
So I built a system that focused on alignment before action.
A structure that didn’t demand perfection, but still created progress.
The 5 Phases of Real-Life Balance
Instead of trying to “fix everything,” I focused on five key areas that actually shape your life.
1. Becoming Clear
Not the Pinterest version of your dream life.
Your real vision.
What makes you feel fulfilled? What actually matters to you? Or, what kind of life fits your energy, your family, your reality?
Clarity here changes everything.
2. Becoming Well
This is your foundation.
Your health.
Mindset.
Joy.
Spiritual and emotional well-being.
When you’re living with autoimmune challenges, this isn’t optional. It’s essential.
3. Becoming Supported
Your environment and relationships either support your growth or quietly drain you.
This includes:
-
- Your partner
-
- Your family
-
- Your friendships
-
- Your physical space
Alignment here creates breathing room.
4. Becoming Prosperous
This is where most moms feel the most tension.
You want:
-
- Income
-
- Purpose
-
- Flexibility
But not at the cost of your health or your family.
This step is about building work that fits your life. Not the other way around.
5. Becoming Structured
This is the piece most systems miss.
You don’t need a rigid schedule.
You need a flexible structure that allows all areas of your life to work together.
Something that bends without breaking when life happens.
Because it will.
Why Most Systems Don’t Work (Especially for Moms Like You)
Most advice out there assumes:
-
- You have unlimited energy
-
- Your days are predictable
-
- You can “push through”
But if you’re dealing with chronic illness, burnout, or motherhood overload…
That advice doesn’t just fail.
It backfires.
You don’t need more pressure.
You need a system that:
-
- Meets you where you are
-
- Supports your capacity
-
- Builds consistency without burnout
That’s where real change happens.
Fear Doesn’t Go Away; You Stop Letting It Lead
Here’s something I wish someone had told me earlier.
Fear doesn’t disappear when you’re ready.
It quiets down when you move anyway.
You don’t wait to feel confident.
Build confidence by showing up while you’re still unsure.
You don’t eliminate fear.
You outgrow it.
And every time you take action despite fear, you prove something powerful to yourself:
“I can handle this.”
You’re Not Behind; You’re Becoming
If you’re reading this and thinking:
-
- “I’ve wasted time”
-
- “I should be further ahead”
-
- “I keep starting and stopping”
Let me offer you a different perspective.
You’re not behind.
You’re in the process of becoming someone who can actually sustain the life you want.
Because a dream life without the internal foundation?
It collapses.
Every time.
What you’re building right now… slowly, imperfectly, intentionally…
That’s what lasts.
Final Thoughts: You Don’t Need to Start Over
You don’t need to burn your life down and rebuild from scratch.
And you don’t need to wait for the perfect time.
You don’t need to become someone completely different.
You need to:
-
- See clearly
-
- Decide intentionally
-
- Build sustainably
-
- Show up consistently
Inside the life you already have.
Because your life isn’t broken.
It just needs a stronger, more aligned version of you leading it.
Your Next Step
If this resonated with you, don’t let it become another “that was helpful” moment that fades by tomorrow.

You need the tools, structure, and support to become the woman who can create it.
And that version of you?
She’s already in there.
She’s just waiting for you to decide.
